How many downspouts do I need?
One downspout for every 30-40 linear feet of gutter. Place them at corners and low points where water naturally drains.
What size gutters should I use?
5-inch K-style gutters are standard for most homes. 6-inch gutters are better for large roofs, steep pitches, or heavy-rain areas.
How much slope do gutters need?
Gutters should slope 1/4 inch per 10 feet toward the downspout. A 40-foot run needs about 1 inch of total slope.
